    Avoiding Job Scams: Career Group

    If you’re ever contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn or any other job search websites, my advice is to be extremely cautious! Don’t waste your time replying to messages from “recruiters” and “filling out forms” before the “video interviews” because it’s often a scam! I learned the hard way when someone reached out to me on LinkedIn, claiming that my profile would be perfect for an opportunity in a financial service firm. Despite my initial skepticism, I decided to reply to the message after verifying the company’s reputation. To my surprise, after a few weeks, the recruiter invited me for a Face Time interview. I followed all the necessary steps, including sending my resume and filling out forms on the team’s app website. But before the long-awaited interview, the interviewer asked me to fill out one final part of the forms (on boarding), after which she said she would call me back to do the interview. However, it never happened, and when I tried to reach out to her, her secretary was extremely rude and dismissive. I realized it was all a waste of my time, and I was furious about the situation. Therefore, I urge you to be vigilant and not fall prey to such scams. Don’t waste your time, and don’t let them waste yours!

    Career Group Disappointment: Career Group

    After connecting with Career Group in February 2019, and jumping through all their hoops, they sent my resume out to 2 locations pretty quickly. I was excited that I would have help in my job hunt. Unfortunately, after they submitted me for those two positions, I never heard from them again. I had to reach out to them to see if there was any interest in my resume, and they never got back to me. Fast forward to May 2021, I began to receive emails from them with potential jobs, all of which were well outside of the parameters for jobs I was interested in or qualified for. If you are interested in finding a new job in a reasonable amount of time, being treated with respect, or working with people who actually respond to emails or requests to unsubscribe, Career Group is not the place for you.
