    The Disappointment of a Misrepresented Hotel Experience with Fab Hotels

    Fab Hotels are FraudstersI booked 2 rooms from 31/12/23 till 03/01/24 in Fab Hotels Greenland Classic Bhubaneswar through booking.com for my family. I made an advance payment of 3074/- to get my booking confirmed. Total amount was 8232.84 for 2 rooms for 3 nights. However during checkin on 31/12/23 we found that the hotel was entirely different from what was shown in the pics posted on booking.com. Hotel was under construction, lift wasn’t working and also hotel did not have any kitchen/restaurant as mentioned in the hotel’s description on the site. Rooms were too small, dark and shady which were not at all meant for family stay. Rooms pics were totally opposite of what was shown on booking.com site. We were quite disappointed and asked the receptionist to connect us with property owner to raise our concern, rather we were asked to call the customer service. I cancelled my booking and tried calling the owner which was actually Fab Hotels number. That number was never connected and so i spoke with booking.com and they too denied to help mentioning that property owner has to refund the advance payment.Fab hotels are fraudsters as after filing complain into consumer forum I found indefinite complains from various customers so a strict action should be taken against them.

    Wedding Venue Woes

    The booking process was shocking. After asking multiple times for an invoice and not receiving one, i settled for a verbal confirmation that our room was confirmed. This was for a family members wedding at the venue otherwise i would have just canceled.There are no fridges in the room, no drinking water in the rooms and the taps only have borehole water which in the last day had high sulphur content so the water stank like eggs. There’s no way to call for water to be delivered if needed.Breakfast was very tasty but they were not prepared for the amount of guests they had so there were wait times on many of the cooked breakfast items. The food overall was really good though, the catering at the wedding was very well done.The lawns had been cut but the cut grass was not picked up and simply left to rot and be trampled through. This was outside the rooms and outside the reception venue so it was unpleasant to walk through and definitely a noticeable failure on the venues part.The reception venue was not wheelchair accessible or good for elderly people with the only formal access being down a steep flight of stairs and the restrooms being at the top of these stairs so quite a trek for someone like my mother who has severe back and hip issues.It’s a lovely venue but management needs to pull their socks up. Friendliness only gets you so far, they need to be more professional and focus on the finer details.

    Frustration and Discomfort

    We booked into Lythwood Lodge in the Midlands for a three night stay over New Year 2022 wih our two Yorkies. This was our second time here after a great experience we had last year the same time. We always recommended the place to family and friends. However, we had not been informed 1) that the river crossing was flooded (not even a courtesy call from the lodge) and driving through this was scary, 2) that the rules for dogs had changed. When booking and checking in we had not been advised rules had changed. Dogs are now NO longer allowed in the entire main Lodge previously it was just the restaurant. No where are these rules visible and the manner in which we were approached (while seated in the lounge waiting for our room to be cleaned) was unacceptable with conflicting reasons given. After deciding to check out earlier (due to this) we were told that we now needed to pay a cancellarion fee of 20% (no remorse from the lodge). The reasons given for having to pay the cancellarion even more ridiculous. The lodge was empty with a few guest. Lythwood Lodge started our year off in such disappointment and ruined our new year holiday. It overshadowed everything else. We will NEVER be back and we do not recommend staying here if you have fur babies

    Misleading Booking

    booked for ac bus but were taken in a ac van very uncomfortable We had booked for one day city tour on 5/12/2017 in ac bus. Though a bus picked us up from punjagutta central, we 13 members were made to shift to a van at birla temple. This van was very uncomfortable, crammed, dirty and with poor ac cooling. Sir/ madam, we had guest at home from bangalore who wanted to see hyderabad. We felt hyderabad tourism will be the best. But it was very very disappointing. We are always proud of our city but this type of service only prooves that hydtourism is not bothered about image of hyderabad. Guide provided was not of proper standard. Nothing was impressive.

    Disillusioned and Ripped Off

    Completely disappointed and ripped off… Completely disappointed and ripped off by this company. Emailed a complaint and no reply. We were told to be at the bus stop no later than 7am as they leave at 7.15am. Multiple times we were told not to be late as the bus would leave at 7.15am without us if we were at all late. 6.35am we arrived there. We never got on a bus until after 8am, unsure what time it eventually left at all because two people were late, and supposedly didn’t turn up. After the trip was booked we got a WhatsApp telling us that the Naples part of the trip is cancelled and they would give us 3.30hours at Pompeii instead of the 2 hours. Sadly we only got the 2 hours and the tour guide was in such a rush we missed so many things to see. This was something I personally wanted to see for over 10 years. The tour guide spoke 100mph, us and many others couldn’t understand him. We felt like we were constantly running after the guide as he was extremely quick walking through the place in such a rush. The hotel they took us to for breakfast that we had to pay for was more than 3x times the price of anything else in Rome. Advising us to eat breakfast which we did, but not saying your getting your lunch in just over an hours time. Absolutely disappointed in everything from the start to finish in this trip and basically feel it wasn’t worth the money one bit. The fact a part of the trip was cancelled and not rectified and we still got charged the full amount is disgusting.

    False Advertising – car seatDisgusting service. No infant car seat as stated on website and email trail. Unwilling to purchase an infant car seat.Story below for anyone interested:We booked online pre-travel specifically with Grayline as they offer infant car seats for their tours. We didn’t bring our car seat from home for this exact reason.We got to the airport transfer and no car seat. The driver said no one had let him know we needed one and to just hold baby. I emailed the company to confirm they had the infant seat, they said yes.It got to the day before our Golden Circle trip and we were informed they only had a large baby seat not an infant size. We spoke to them explaining it was too big and they refused to hire or purchase an infant size – despite advertising them online. The large car seat we were shown was dirty, smelled of cigarettes and didn’t look in good condition.We had to hire a car as a result of this and drive in the snowy Icelandic winter with our infant.

    3 Star Off Walking Street in Little IndiaPros: Close to Walking Street, Value, Cleanliness, WiFiCons: Close to Walking Street, Dining, MaintenanceSolo Pleasure Traveler, First-time Guest, One week stayI researched and found the Grand Hotel as a recommended place to stay. But realized I may have made a mistake when the taxi driver kept asking why I was staying in Little India?” The location is right off of Walking Street. Which is convenient, but I could hear the music and street traffic. Also, I have to say, it’d been 25 years since visiting Pattaya; and had I known how it “changed,” I would have booked elsewhere in Pattaya. I booked through agoda and got a great price. And for the price, it was a great value. The room is modern, maintained, and clean. The flooring is finished concrete, which works well. And the WiFi was always five bars and never faltered. I will note housekeeping did a fantastic job of the rooms. Large screenTV, large safe, and large fridge all came with the room.As I said, since your close to the action, expect residual ambient noise from Walking Street. Sadly, the in-house restaurant had not yet reopened; which after reading past reviews, I was really looking forward to it. Lastly, many of the photos of the common areas are dated. Although the room was great, the common areas all looked dingy and neglected.If you are looking to stay close to the tourist area of Walking Street, I highly suggest the Grand Hotel. But if you want Pattaya of yesteryear, book around Soi 6, 7, and 8 area.Note: If you take the Roong Reuang Bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Pattaya (143 baht), please have the hotel’s location in Google Maps. Because the Hotel is wedged in a tiny alley within Little India. If I didn’t have the map, the driver would not have known where to go. Expect to pay around 200 baht for the taxi from the south terminal to Grand Hotel.
